Questions before getting started
Why do you build websites on WordPress?
Because it’s the safest long-term home for your website.
WordPress is the most widely used website platform in the world, and it’s open source. Your site isn’t tied to me or to a proprietary platform. If you ever want to work with someone else, there’s a large pool of developers who know WordPress, so you’re never stuck.
It also grows with your business. New service pages, location pages, forms, call tracking, and CRM connections can all be added as your marketing expands, without rebuilding from scratch.
And it’s easy to live with. I take care of the technical side, like speed, security, and updates, and you can still log in to make simple changes whenever you like.
Do I own my website?
Yes. Your domain, content, brand assets, and website are yours from day one.
Your site is built on open-standard WordPress with clean, transferable code, so you’re never locked in. You have the long-term flexibility to keep it, grow it, or take it elsewhere.
Do I need to write all the copy and provide photos, or do you handle that?
I handle the heavy lifting for messaging and conversion copywriting based on our initial strategy session. For imagery, authentic photos of your real team, shop, or projects always convert best. I encourage using high-quality local photography wherever possible. Where gaps exist, I curate authentic visual assets that fit your brand aesthetic so the site never looks like a generic template.
What happens to my current site's content and SEO rankings during a redesign?
Protecting your search visibility is a core part of the build. Before making any technical changes, I map out your existing top-performing URL paths, preserve critical metadata, and set up precise 301 redirect protocols. This ensures search engines seamlessly transfer your hard-earned authority to the new site structure without dropping your rankings.
How long does a typical custom website build take from start to finish?
Most custom builds take between 6 to 10 weeks from kickoff to launch. Because we work through three focused milestones (Strategy, Prototype, and Final Review), the timeline remains predictable and momentum stays high. The biggest factor in keeping to the schedule is timely feedback during our strategic review cycles.
Will I be able to update and edit the website myself after it launches?
Absolutely. You get the best of both worlds.
As your ongoing marketing partner, my monthly service includes complete website maintenance, so making an update is usually as simple as sending me a quick email or text, and it’s taken care of.
With that said, you are never locked out of your own site. If you ever need to hop in and update a price, change business hours, or edit a phone number, I build custom admin fields directly into your dashboard to make those quick changes effortless. You have full freedom to log in whenever you want, but you also have a dedicated partner handling the heavy lifting so you don’t have to.
Do you use AI to build my website?
I use AI as a productivity tool where it can accelerate tasks without compromising quality or wasting time. AI can potentially save time and keep project costs practical. But it never replaces hands-on strategic positioning, original copywriting, custom browser-tested engineering, or personal oversight.
Where is my website hosted, and what happens if I ever decide to move it?
You retain full ownership of your domain name, brand assets, and content at all times.
While we work together, your site is hosted on my managed Kinsta infrastructure. I handle server management, software licenses, security, and routine updates so you never have to deal with hosting logistics or plugin invoices.
If you ever choose to move your website in-house or to another provider, I offer a flat-rate migration package. I handle the complete technical transfer, database configuration, and deployment to your new host, so your site moves smoothly without downtime or technical headaches.
